The Orangery has been created out of two old greenhouses, one that exclusively grew violets for Lady Margaret McCausland, the present owners grandmother, the other was the tomato house. The current design tries to make the most of the light and views over The Walled Garden. On warm sunny days there is outdoor seating where you will be able to savour the colours of the plants, the buzzing of the bees, the birds singing and the delicate scents of herbs, flowers and cut grass.
We offer simple but delicious refreshments Wednesday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm. Sundays opening hours are 12pm until 4pm. You can choose from the soup of the day, made on the day from ingredients grown in the garden, sandwiches, paninis, toasted focaccia and tray bakes.
There is also a selection of cold drinks, locally produced beers and ciders, and a short but select wine list.
